I have quite a bit of credit card debt, but I do not know which companies can be trusted. The credit card companies will not work with you these days if you are current. But it is a real strain when income is limited.

how do debt settler people make peoples debts go away? who pays the money? is it fair that if someone is in debt because they made poor choices that they can get out of paying some of the money? i know not all people go into debt for that reason but a lot do. . [...]

Anybody have experience with those debt relief programs. I am considering doing that to get out of credit card debt.

I talked to one about $30,000 in debt on credit cards (don’t ask) and they said they could pay it all off in 3 and 1/2 years, I am getting a lower interest rate, but not any reduction in my debt, is this better than bankruptcy?
