I just got summoned on a credit debt & the state court requires an answer on the debt? What should I do?
My debt is 3 years old. The collection agency is a third party collector. Can anyone help?

What ever you do, don’t ignore it. If at all possible and it truly is a debt of yours, the right thing to do would be to pay your debt. IF you can not afford that at this time, that is your answer.
However, if you do not recognize this debt, your answer should be that this is not your debt and you request a hearing. Then go to the hearing and fight the debt. They will have to prove that it is yor debt. At that point they may be able to set up a reasonable payment plan.
The only thing a court can do is summons you to court and garnish your wages. Now if you don’t have a job they cant garnish anything can they? However, Its not a bad idea to work on that debt and make at least some kind of special effort with at least a minimal payment. That’s the Nobel thing to do since you already have received their services, product/s or money loaned to you.
add to the fellows answer above, if it is for allot get a attorney involved, second you need to file a motion of discovery that means that they must provide all statements, int rest calculation and signed contract of the perpetrated debt.
