As to Longhorne, they are probably taking your money and not paying your bills so that when they make an offer of 50% or less of the amount owed, they hope that the lenders will accept it.  However, there is nothing obliging the lenders to accept the offer and they can sue you (not for jail time, just to get a judgment against you leading to wage garnishment, perhaps).  Whatever happens going forward, your credit is ruined.</description>
