be careful consolidating debt can seriously hurt your credit. you are better off making a deal directly with the creditors. any credit cards will be closed and will show on your credit report as “closed by grantor” then you have to pay the debt consolidation company the minimum of your payment plus a transaction fee. it’s not at good as it sounds it has taken me 2.5 years to get back to a decent credit rating.
